Greetings my friends! I have spent the last month or so embroiled in a major move. Now that the move is over, I figured it was time to write a new blog post. I am especially excited about this post because I am about to share with you a major step forward in the development of my writing. This is much more exciting than fireworks. I recently did a guest post over at the Ragnarok Publications blog that details some of the changes, and you can read that here.
As a result of the changes to my book which evolved into Talindor’s Guest, I am finally able to embrace changes that have been occurring in my writing plan over the last several months. You can think of it like a schematic, hence the name of this post, which is an organized pattern of thought or behavior that organizes categories of information and the relationships among them. In this case it organizes my different stories and develops an overarching relationship between them. In case you may have guessed what I mean, yes…I am birthing a new multiverse. I am sure you have questions, which I will attempt to answer below.
WHAT IS A MULTIVERSE?
A multiverse is an interconnected network of planets, or worlds which can be traveled by the various species in a series. The idea of a multiverse is not necessarily new. The difference with mine is that it not only spans different worlds, but also different timelines. You will see this at play when you read Talindor’s Guest. So for instance, while one of my books might be a more traditional fantasy, and another can be a sci/fi-fantasy blend. My current work in progress is actually just that. The best part is that the disparity in timelines will not become an issue the way I have designed it.
WHY A MULTIVERSE?
It makes all of my worlds more cohesive. It also tells a story of a certain set of characters that is subtly working behind the scenes and connecting the multiverse together. Who they are, and how they work you will see develop over time. I love the way it is coming together, because there is a grandiose mystery that is unfolding.
DOES IT HAVE A NAME?
Here is the most exciting part! Those of you who are reading this blog are the first to hear the name of my new multiverse. Are you ready? Drum roll please…
All my future works, with a few possible exceptions, will fall into the Nuveryn (New-Vair-In) Multiverse. Nuveryn is a deconstructed form of an Icelandic word which means current, and in the ancient language of my writing it literally means “Streams of Existence.” It fits perfectly with my multiverse which uses currents of time and space to travel the different worlds. This allows me to create a grand schematic for my writing to unfold upon, and I fully believe you, my readers, will benefit greatly from it.
I hope you are all as excited as I am, and I look forward to my multiverse growing and expanding for many years, and books, to come.
Embracing the Magic,
